Is Your Immune System Strong & Holiday-Ready?

The holiday season is a time for joy, cheer, and, unfortunately, germs. As we gather with loved ones and indulge in festive treats, it’s essential to keep our immune system strong and holiday ready. Here are some natural remedies and lifestyle tweaks to help you avoid winter colds and flu.

For a Strong Immune System

Nourish Your Body

When it comes to eating, make sure you nourish your body with healthy foods that support a strong immune system. Eat a variety of foods that you love, but don’t overindulge.  Especially, stay away from sugar and limit your alcohol intake.  Sugar not only can spike insulin, but it creates inflammation in your system.

You can always enjoy traditional desserts. Just replace sugar with Besti Monk Fruit with Allulose.  You won’t notice the difference. Read “Can You Enjoy Treats without Sugar” for more ideas

Eat a Rainbow

Incorporate colorful fruits and vegetables into your diet.  Don’t be concerned about the natural sugar that comes from fruits and vegetables because they are packaged by nature to have fiber that is an antidote to the sugar.  Plus, they are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that makes your immunity strong.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

People think of summer that they need to keep hydrated.  You always need to drink water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated and function optimally. You will find if you drink a lot water it will fill you up and you won’t eat as much.  Plus, it is a great way to make you more regular too.

Mindful Eating

When it comes to the holidays, people always ask me what they should do.  I say eat in moderation.  Be mindful to what you put in your mouth. Don’t pile up food on your plate.  Slow down and consider what you really want to eat.  Also, your body will give you cues when you’re full.  When you eat slowly, chew more you are more aware of the cues.  So, enjoy and savor every bite.  Pause and see if you really want more.  You don’t want to overstrain your digestive system.

Prioritize Sleep

With the hustle and bustle of holidays, running here and there, sometimes it takes time to slow down our brain and thoughts.  Take time to tune out from the day.  Read a good book, meditate to calming music or relax in a warm bath.  All these activities will ease you to sleep.

Quality Over Quantity

Don’t overload your days where you will not have time to sleep.  Your sleep is the time for your body to repair and recoup itself.  Truly the quality of time not the quantity is important. When it comes to how much sleep you need, adults need at least 7 hours of sleep and children need more.

It is best not to think of all the things you need to do.  Simply write them down and know you will get to them.  Journal your day to let go of problems that you have.  Make sure your bedroom is quiet and cool so you will ease into sleep.

If you need assistance, I have Beyond Sleep Gummies that will help you with your sleep cycles for a good quality sleep.

Manage Stress

There are many ways to manage stress.  I personally love exercise.  Yes, I run but walking or Zumba is just as good.  The whole point of moving your body is to get your blood and lymph circulating and over time your mood will be uplifted.  It does release endorphins.

Connecting with Nature and Your Surrounding

Being outside in the wintertime is magical.  It is more serene and calming.  The air is fresh and crisp. Spend time outdoors to see the natural splendor and festive lighting of holiday lights in our neighborhood.  Because I live near the beach, there are festive boat parades that are a lot of fun to watch too.

Practice Mindfulness

I already mentioned mediation.  It is a great way to pay attention to what is happening to your body.  You pay attention to breathing, making slow and deep and helps you to reduce stress and anxiety. meditation helps your body in so many ways.

Boost Your Immunity Naturally

Everyone thinks they can get everything from their food.  That is not totally true.  You would have to eat a lot to get vitamins, antioxidants and minerals you need.  As I mentioned, our fruits and vegetables are 70 -80% deficient due to lack of minerals in our soils and GMO crops.

High Quality Supplementation is Crucial

As a base, utilize a form of 90 for Life that is 90 Essential Nutrients 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids, and 3 essential fatty acids.  There are so many to choose from you can contact me to find one that suits you the best.  My favorites are Healthy Body Pak 2.0 and 3.0 Rise & Restore. This base supports a strong immune system. Sometimes, you need more. Here are some ideas.
