I modified this recipe from The Pioneer Woman. It contains Saveur Foods Mulling Spice Mix that is on sale in the the Sleigh the Holidays Gift Guide – Holiday Spices gift set.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp of Saveur Foods Mulling Spice Mix
lemon peel from 1 lemon
6 c. unfiltered organic (fresh squeezed is great) apple juice
1/2 c. organic maple syrup
To serve add apple slices, orange twists, cinnamon sticks and anise.
1/2 c. dark rum, optional

Directions:

In a medium saucepan place lemon peel and Saveur Foods Mulling Spice Mix. Pour in the organic maple syrup and organic apple juice, then bring to almost a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Remove from the heat and serve in mugs with apple slices, orange twists, cinnamon sticks and anise.

Add a splash of rum for an adults-only version!

Enjoy!
